CEREC® Same-Day Dental Crowns and Bridges

If you have decayed, broken, worn, or missing teeth, Dr. Kathryn Jagow offers porcelain crowns and bridges at her Mountlake Terrace dental office to restore your smile. Using only the finest materials and dental labs, she designs tooth restorations that enhance your smile and stand up beautifully to daily wear and tear.

Same-Day CEREC Dental Crowns

Unlike years past when it required two appointments to get a crown or bridge, CEREC (chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramic) technology reduces this to only a single appointment. CEREC uses CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and manufacture) technology to mill your crown out of durable and attractive porcelain in the office in a single appointment while you wait.

Rather than bulky impression material, Dr. Jagow can now use a digital scanner to capture impressions of your teeth in about two minutes. CEREC software then designs your long-lasting crown out of porcelain, and it is milled on our in-office milling machine.

Using her artistry skills, Dr. Jagow will customize the color and shade of your new crown or onlay, and you will leave with it the same day.

Why Our Dentist Recommends Dental Crowns

Our goal at Terrace Creek Dental Care is to provide high-quality, affordable treatment that fits your time and your budget. We always start by recommending the most conservative treatment that will restore your oral health. In some cases, a tooth filling won't provide the strength and protection a damaged tooth requires. In this case, Dr. Jagow would recommend a dental crown or onlay (partial crown) instead. Some examples are:

  • Protect a tooth with a cavity too extensive for a filling
  • Strengthen a tooth that already has a large filling
  • Protect a worn or weak tooth from breaking
  • Reinforce a tooth after root canal treatment
  • Secure a dental bridge in place
  • Conceal a severely discolored or misshapen tooth
  • Restore function to a dental implant

The first step is an evaluation at our Mountlake Terrace dental office to see if a tooth crown is right for you. She will perform a thorough assessment to determine the extent of the damage to the tooth and share x-rays and intraoral images with you so you can see for yourself how a dental crown will benefit your long-term oral health.

Conservative CEREC Onlays

Sometimes in dentistry, a dental filling is not quite enough to repair a tooth, but a full dental crown might not be necessary. In these situations, a conservative CEREC onlay is often a fantastic solution. You can think of an onlay as a partial crown made out of long-lasting and esthetic porcelain, just like our full dental crowns.

An onlay typically covers a broken or worn tooth, restoring one or more cusps and the chewing surface of the tooth. It is a way to preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible while providing a long-lasting repair that looks natural.

We complete the process in a single day, so you can smile and eat your favorite foods with confidence without the wait!

Complete Your Smile with a Dental Bridge

If you are missing one or two teeth from the same spot in your mouth, a dental bridge is an excellent tooth replacement solution to restore your smile.

A bridge consists of a prosthetic tooth that sits in the empty space and is stabilized by dental crowns anchored to neighboring teeth. Because a dental bridge relies on support from adjacent teeth, the main requirement of this restoration is having strong and healthy neighboring teeth.

The treatment process for a dental bridge is similar to a dental crown, and Dr. Jagow can provide you with your new bridge on the same day.

Is a Dental Crown or Bridge Right for You?

When properly cared for with diligent oral hygiene, routine exams, and teeth cleanings, crowns and bridges can last ten years or longer, making them an excellent investment.

If you have decayed, broken, or missing teeth, we can help you get your new restoration in a single day. Call our Mountlake Terrace dental office to schedule an appointment with Dr. Jagow to get started.
